The Port of Argentia joined forces with the Town of Placentia on Friday, July 15, 2016 in raising the American flag in commemorating the 75^th anniversary of the commissioning of the US Naval Base at Argentia.

In addition to flying the US flag, the Town hosted a reception and display of naval artifacts for public viewing, many of which were supplied on loan from the Port.

Several other events are planned throughout the summer in marking the 75^th anniversary including various activities sponsored by the Atlantic Charter Foundation.
