NARL to Provide Bunkering Services at Port of Argentia

Argentia, NL – 18 August 2016. Port of Argentia CEO Harvey Brenton is pleased to announce that North Atlantic Refining Limited (NARL) and Port of Argentia have reached an operating agreement which will see bunkering services available at Argentia.

The bunkering tanker North Atlantic Kairos (formerly CT Wicklow) will be dispatched from its loading facility at Come By Chance to service vessels in the Port. North Atlantic Kairos has a 3200 MT capacity and is refitted to low sulphur marine gas oil (LSMGO) 2010 specifications.

The gas oil product will be supplied by NARL’s refinery at Come By Chance. The bunker tanker is equipped with a retractable fendering system which allows it to safely and effectively perform bunkering at sea or alongside at the Argentia docks. The vessel will operate 24 hours per day, unless restricted by regulations in a particular port or adverse weather conditions.

The offering of bunkering services at Port of Argentia provides seagoing vessels in Newfoundland waters with a geographically convenient and economically competitive option for refuelling.
