Port of Argentia Launches Door Wrapping Project at Lions Manor Nursing Home

Port of Argentia is pleased to announce continued support for the Trinity Conception Placentia Health Foundation through a meaningful new initiative at Lions Manor Nursing Home. With an investment of $11,500, the Port’s new door wrapping project aims to enhance the hospital environment for residents living with dementia.

The project uses decorative door wraps to create a warm, familiar atmosphere within the nursing home’s dementia care unit. The wraps not only add visual appeal but also serve an important functional purpose—helping residents recognize their rooms and navigate the space with greater ease.

“Projects like this reflect our ongoing commitment to enhancing quality of life in our region,” said Genny Picco, chair of the board of directors of Port of Argentia. “We’re proud to lead an initiative that brings comfort and dignity to residents while supporting the dedicated care staff at Lions Manor.”

The wraps are created with familiar and welcoming imagery of neighbour door designs, giving each door a unique identity and helping foster a sense of ownership and belonging among residents.

This initiative is part of Port of Argentia’s long-term partnership with the Trinity Conception Placentia Health Foundation and its dedication to supporting health and wellness in the region. Previously, the Port donated to create the residents’ lounge and contribute upgrades to the chemotherapy room at the Placentia Health Centre.

To date, Port of Argentia has contributed more than $26,500 to healthcare initiatives in the region.
